This wedding was the PERFECT way to end my year. I had the whole year to get excited about this one since I shot Jenny and Woody’s proposal at the end of 2016. These two were surrounded on their big day by so much love. We started at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center with Jenny and her bridesmaids. I walked into the bridal suite to find a dance party going on which was an indication for how the rest of the day would go. I knew I was in for a treat of a day when I saw the stunning wedding stationary from The Keeping Room. With some help from her sister and mom, Jenny got ready and we had the sweetest first look with her dad. Meanwhile, Woody got ready and met up with his groomsmen at the Hotel Indigo for a drink.
Soon the time came to head over to campus and the University United Methodist Church for the ceremony. Friends and family packed this place to standing room only. The Church was all decorated for Christmas too, which gave the ceremony a little extra festiveness, not that it needed it! Seeing Jenny and Woody at the altar surrounded by all their friends (seriously, biggest bridal party EVER) was so moving and such a great reminder of why I do what I do.
We finished off the night at the Old State Capitol building with the Ice House Band and Heirloom Cuisine providing lots of dancing, food, and fun! Working alongside Amy Brewer from Weddings Taylor Made and Shannon of Shannon Talamo Films was such a pleasure. Big thanks to my second shooters, Eri Marby and Raiane DaCosta for making my job easier and being so great to work with!
Finally a huge congrats to Jenny and Woody who will go on to do so many wonderful things together. Best wishes for a long and happy marriage you two!
